As you may know, a few weeks ago I attended my very first New York Fashion Week as an attendee. Many years ago (literally more than a decade ago, gosh I feel old!) I interned for a designer during NYFW and got to experience a glimpse of it. Going into it this year with a whole new perspective on life, a new mission, and different priorities, I was super excited to take in all of that fashion week has to offer. Just being in New York was awesome! I love that city, its heartbeat and the way it makes me feel like I can accomplish anything! I met so many wonderful people and left so inspired. The street fashion did not disappoint! The runway shows blew me away! The fast pace kept me on my feet, and I actually miss it!
Here’s a quick recap of the shows I went to, the trends I loved and some of the looks I wore! Enjoy xx

KEY TRENDS: Asymmetrical Lines, Romantic Appliqués & Bejeweled Details, Glam Blazers
The Badgley Mischka show was my first one on the schedule. What a way to start my week! They brought us glamour inspired by the 40s and 50s. Think of classic elegance and vintage. The show finale was truly a delight to watch. An array of models marching in the most gorgeous red mini dresses. One of my favorite Fashion Week moments!
What I wore :
KIM SHUI

KEY TRENDS: Tie-Dye, Victorian Sleeves & Necklines, Qi Pao
The Kim Shui Autumn/Winter 19 show was fun and eclectic. Kim Shui presented a line that is rich in color and texture. A lot of taffetas, silk, and denim fabrics. She transported the tie-dye trend that is normally very popular during summer to her fall ready to wear line. She also included the traditional Chinese Qi Pao in some of her designs, which I loved!

KEY TRENDS: 40s inspired silhouettes, Jewel tones, Asymmetrical Lines
The Son Jung Wan show gave me total 40s vibes. From the silhouettes to the color palette! Her Fall/Winter 19 line is fun, elegant and romantic! I loved the tailored dresses and fabrics. A lot of velvets, jacquards, and furs. Also, loved how she used asymmetrical lines to accentuate the body. Stunning show!
YUNA YANG
KEY TRENDS: Varsity, Whimsical Prints, Ruffles
I loved all the shows I attended but this one was definitely one of my favorites. I adored the chosen venue to present the line! The show was held at the beautiful Rizzoli bookstore in NoMad near Madison Square Park. I loved that diversity and inclusivity were celebrated in the presentation. To me, the vibe of this line was “varsity girl meets librarian in an enchanted forest”! The best way I can describe it haha! Simply stunning pieces. Love love love!

KEY TRENDS: 20s Gansgter Power Suit, Exaggerated Shoulders, Western Accents
Taoray Wang was a fun show to watch! The collection was filled with power suits and fedoras that reminded me of the 20s gangster style. I really loved all the tailored looks and oversized blazers! Very menswear inspired. Taoray Wang also incorporated touches of velvet, western accents and beautiful pops of jewel tones throughout her line.

KEY TRENDS: Glam Rock, Spikes, Exaggerated Shoulder Pads
Three words to describe this show: strong, bold and powerful! Every look was so eye-catching. Bold prints, big furs, sparkles, and spikes! Every outfit was making my inner Beyoncé scream! They were so edgy but glam at the same time. The leather jackets with spikes were my absolute favorite!

KEY TREND: This entire line was a trend in itself !!!!
No, but seriously, I am still so in awe over that show! Last show of my trip and boy did it not disappoint! Everything and I mean everything was meticulously thought of. The whole experience felt like a dream. The music, the gowns, my goodness everything was perfection! You could hear the gasps in the crowd with every model that came out to grace the runway. I felt like Cong Tri carried us onto a trip to experience a tiny bit of his creative genius brain and it was awesome! The craftsmanship was out of this world. Hands down my favorite show!
Each woman gleams like a dazzling star, brightening up the mind of her precious someone. I love seeing my women dressed in glamour and the allure of ball gowns , exuding their charm and poise like shining stars on the red carpet.
