Lately, I’ve been a little more intentional about getting back into a fitness and a wellness flow! I fell off for a while because of the life changes we’ve had for the past couple of months. I tried going back to a more structured plan & challenges like I’ve done in the past, I don’t know why I thought that was a good idea lol…I’ve concluded that maybe these are just not for me! 😬
I’m a rhythm kind of person! I enjoy rhythms more than structured/set schedules. I think that rhythms help you create long term habits that you can stick to and also become a lifestyle more than something to “follow”. I want to enjoy my routine not feel like I’m constantly trying to keep up haha!
THINGS THAT HELP MY RYTHM
– Keeping my options open
I don’t have to do the same thing everyday! Sometimes I want to walk/hike other times I’ll hit the gym or hop on the Peloton and sometimes a nice Beachbody workout will do! Not restricting myself to one thing or one way helps me stay motivated to keep my body moving and keeps things interesting!
– Fueling and hydrating my body
Fueling your body is so important! When I’m not eating right or feeding myself the proper amount of food I feel it. Sometimes I get busy and I don’t make time to eat, my energy tanks so hard and I instantly know what the issue is, same with water! Or, when I rely on coffee for energy, it has the opposite effect! I love my morning cup of Joe but don’t drink more than one cup a day. Also, I’ve been juicing a lot and having a lot of fun creating juicing recipes and find that it drinking a tall glass of freshly squeezed juice does a really good job at giving me energy!
– Dress up the part
Wake up, dress up! Specially in the current times! And you know your girl loves a good outfit! I want to wear clothes that make me feel good and look good. During the week, I wear activewear more times than I wear regular clothes simply because it’s easy and works well with my lifestyle. In this post I’m wearing Free People Movement. I love their stuff! – Friends to flow with
Having accountability partners helps me a lot and make things fun! No pressure just little check-ins here and there! While I like working out solo in the gym, I really enjoy walking or hiking with friends! ☺️
